Home to the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces in the world, the exhibits in the Musée D’Orsay collection are almost as impressive as the 19th century Gare d’Orsay railway station housing them.
On the banks of the Seine, in the center of Paris, this work of art displays Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Renoir, Van Gogh, Monet, and Manet. If you don’t remember the difference between Monet and Manet from art history class, and honestly, who can? Amble on over to Whistler’s Mother and feel good about the fact that at least you recognize something on display. If you want to score bonus points, call her by her real name: Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 1.
Visit after 6:00pm on Thursday nights when admission price is reduced and the museum stays open until 9:45. Or, be a part of the masses the first Sunday of every month when admission is free. Just don’t go on a Monday when the museum is closed.
