As one the cornerstone art museums in Madrid, (joined by considerably longer named Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza, as the country's "Golden Triangle of Art), the Prado Museum is a popular destination and gateway into the world of pre 20th century Spanish and European artwork.
This regal site oozes with artistic prestige, as it houses works by El Greco, Hieronymus Bosch, Titian, and Francisco de Goya. Some of the most studied and recognized pieces of art, including "Saturn Devouring His Son" by Goya, and "The Garden of Heavenly Delights" by Bosch, call the Prado home.
If you have the opportunity to head over to the Reina Sofia as well, you will be rewarded with the sight of Pablo Picasso’s ‘Guernica’, which is worth a peek.
