Most famous for Michelangelo’s magnificent statue of David, the Galleria holds so much more. What it doesn’t hold, much to our dismay, is a scaled statue of a slain Goliath. The upside being actually having space for people.
The Galleria actually DOES Include sculptures by other great Italian artists, even some you’ve heard of, like Botticelli. Not to mention a recently added Museum of Musical Instruments, displaying one-of-a-kind masterpieces by Stradivari (of Stradivarius violin fame) and Bartolomeo Cristofori, the father of the modern piano. Don’t worry, we didn’t know who he was either.
