Modern artwork is known for being experimental, obtuse, and, sometimes, a bit of a head-scratcher. It challenges the observer to digest and process a unique message. And one of the premier locations to experience this phenomenon is the Tate Modern in London.
Matching the unconventionality of its art, the Tate Modern lives in a former Bankside Power Station, alongside the River Thames. Underground oil tanks and other power station rooms have been refurbished to house varying eclectic types of art. Specific genres explored by Tate Modern include Cubism, Futurism, Abstract Impressionism, Surrealism, and Pop Art. Featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and Andy Warhol.
