Interested in rocking out to some amazing bands at a centuries-old fortress? Of course you are.

Founded on the principles of social reform, The EXIT is a four-day music festival held in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. Good luck finding that on a map. The festival’s origins began in the year 2000, when student activists started a movement to ‘exit’ the tyrannical rule of the Serbian regime. From its humble beginnings to now, Exit has grown tremendously in both size and prestige (the festival was recently awarded “Best Major European Festival” at the EU Festival Awards.)

Held in the Petrovaradin Fortress on the banks of the Danube, Exit features music from many genres, including rock, metal, hip-hop, and electronica. Some of the world’s top musical acts, such as Arcade Fire, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, and the Chemical Brothers have performed here in the past.

The music is broken down into different performance stages – main, dance, explosive, fusion, happynovisad, and elektrana. As an added bonus, the fortress location provides amazing acoustics, giving the music an unbelievable sound quality.

Exit 2015 has not yet confirmed its dates or lineup; however, the festival is traditionally held over four days beginning on the second Thursday of July.
