Held annually since 1810, this Bavarian tradition draws over 6 million visitors to Munich each Autumn. Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival in which Bavarians, and their worldwide drinking buddies, feast on German beer, food and music. Contrary to what you might think, Beerfest ...oops, 'Oktoberfest' is a family affair; so the kids can enjoy amusement rides and games while mom and dad chow down on funny sounding sausages and revel in the fact that they’re having a Bavarian lager out of a real German stein. In Germany! And, speaking of the beer, there is nearly as much variety as their is quantity. So whatever your beer of choice, Oktoberfest has got something for you. If you insist on a cocktail on the other hand… Oktoberfest is absolutely NOT for you.
The next Oktoberfest will begin, ironically enough, on September 19, and the kegs will remain on tap until Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Munich, Germany. Just make sure you’re ready for Beer, Bavaria and Bratwurst. And more beer.
