Glastonbury is a world-renowned open air festival that combines amazing music and spellbinding entertainment with an incredible - albeit often damp- English atmosphere. Since 1970, Glastonbury’s founder and organizer, Michael Eavis, has hosted the event on his land in Pilton, England. This five day festival, held in late June, has something for everyone - music, comedy, theater, dance, and more. If you plan on attending Glastonbury, we recommend getting your camping gear ready, as the majority of festival attendees sleep in tents at campsites spread across the grounds.
With recent audiences reaching 175,000 people, Glastonbury attracts music fans from around the globe. There is even a feature length documentary detailing Glastonbury’s history from 1970 through 2005. The festival typically has a diverse line-up, with recent musical performers including Lady Gaga, B.B. King, the Rolling Stones, U2, and Jay-Z.
Although tickets for the 2015 festival are sold out, a resale of canceled and returned tickets will take place in the spring.
In 2015, Glastonbury Festival takes place from June 24 -28.
